Specializations
These are areas I have experience working with. I imagine these as indicators of the current state of your nervous system and what needs attention, curiosity, or care.
My Approach
In my work, I often understand mental illness as the result of a nervous system being stressed, repressed, suppressed, or oppressed. Chronically, acutely, or unknowingly. I've seen how confusion and pain can pull us away from the sacred parts of our being to protect us from more suffering. Sometimes this leads to getting stuck in the mind, trapped in cycles, or withdrawn from the world.
In my clinical training and through personal experience, I've learned that pain holds the pathway back to ourselves. With this insight, I meet your nervous system where it's at and we go from there, often exploring the deeper layers protecting your hidden truths and treasures. I follow your story and allow your natural movement to unfold, away from unwanted cycles and toward a deeper alignment with your fullest self.
My approach blends trauma-informed, culturally responsive, somatic-oriented, mindfulness-based, identify affirming, and skills-based modalities to guide each session. I’ve intentionally chosen modalities that connect the mind, body, and spirit, and truly honors the essence of being human.
Our therapy space is one we co-create together: a space that can hold both structure and spontaneity, depth and light-heartedness, pain and joy, chaos and peace. We may use art, props, toys, play, humor, nature, music, movement, card decks, creativity, and curiosity to navigate the heaviness of pain, the uncertainty of life, and the celebration of you. Together, we will explore and expand.
